Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2026
C-Breath is a guided-breathing app designed by the Center for Behavioral Decisions. We believe breath practice is a private act. This policy describes — in plain language — what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
C-Breath is built to minimize data collection. Almost everything you do in the app stays on your device.
- On-device practice data. Breathing session history, streaks, star counts, and your notification schedule are stored locally on your device and, when you are signed into iCloud, synced through your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. We have no access to this data.
- Daily quotes. The app reads a public collection of quotes from CloudKit. This is a read-only operation. We don't record which quote you see.
- Subscriptions. If you purchase C-Breath Premium, the transaction is handled by Apple's App Store and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive an anonymized subscription identifier so we can verify your entitlement. We never see your name, email, or payment details.
- Diagnostics. If you opt in via iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymized crash reports with us. We use these solely to fix bugs.
What we don't collect
- We don't collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- We don't use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We don't sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone. There is no data to sell.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Health & sensitive data
C-Breath is a wellness tool, not a medical device. The app does not access HealthKit and does not record physiological data (heart rate, breathing rate, etc.). Sessions you complete are recorded only as "you finished a session at this time" — they are not shared with Apple Health or any third party.
Notifications
You can schedule local reminders to breathe. These notifications are delivered by iOS on your device. Their content and timing are stored locally — no notification data is sent to our servers.
Children
C-Breath is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
Your choices
- iCloud sync. You can turn off iCloud sync at any time in your device's iCloud settings. Your local practice history will remain on the device.
- Notifications. Disable any time in iOS Settings > Notifications > C-Breath.
- Subscription. Manage or cancel in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device.
- Delete the app. Removing C-Breath deletes all on-device data. iCloud-synced data is removed when you delete the app and sign out of iCloud on all devices.
Data retention
Subscription entitlement records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to honor your purchase. Local and iCloud practice data is retained only on your devices.
Security
All data in transit uses HTTPS / TLS. iCloud data is protected by Apple's standard end-to-end encryption for private CloudKit databases. We rely on Apple's infrastructure and RevenueCat's certified payment handling rather than running our own servers.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app.
